PoE Adapter with 25W USB-C and Gigabit Ethernet for Tablets
The smart things PoE Adapter 25W USB-C Power+Gigabit Data (s29 C) supplies USB-C tablets and smartphones simultaneously with power and wired Gigabit network data over a single Ethernet cable. The adapter converts the IEEE 802.3at PoE+ voltage into a USB-C output of up to 25 watts and provides in parallel a 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet connection via the USB 3.0 output. The included 40 cm USB-C cable enables a space-saving connection, ideal for surface- or flush-mounting behind wall mounts.
The smart things s29 C is compatible with USB-C iPads, Microsoft Surface Go, Samsung Galaxy Tab Active2 and Google Pixel smartphones. Through wired data transmission, the sCharge PoE+ Adapter offers higher network security than wireless connections. Typical application areas are conference rooms, kiosk systems, digital signage, reception desks, POS stations as well as permanently installed tablets in building automation. For installation, a round flush-mount box with a 120 mm diameter or a double box with dimensions 140 x 66 x 66 mm is suitable.

How does the smart things s29 C PoE adapter with USB-C Gigabit work?
The smart things s29 C is a Power over Ethernet adapter that converts the PoE+ voltage from a network cable into a USB-C power supply with up to 25 watts. Unlike conventional PoE splitters, the s29 C delivers not only 10/100 Mbps but full Gigabit Ethernet speeds with 10/100/1000 Mbps via the USB 3.0 output. This allows power and high-speed network data to be transmitted simultaneously over a single cable for up to 100 meters from the PoE switch or injector to the end device. The adapter is compatible with the IEEE 802.3af and IEEE 802.3at standards and works with any PoE-capable switch or injector. The included 40 cm USB-C cable with a right-angled connector is specially designed for concealed mounting behind wall brackets. The output voltage is available in multiple steps, from 5V to 20V, enabling reliable powering of different USB-C devices. The input voltage is 48 to 56 volts via an RJ45 socket. Two LEDs on the housing indicate status: the green LED signals the PoE connection and the yellow LED indicates the USB-C output.
Which devices and installation options does the sCharge PoE Gigabit Adapter support?
The smart things s29 C is compatible with all USB-C iPads, the Microsoft Surface Go, the Samsung Galaxy Tab Active2, and the latest Google Pixel smartphones. Note that the s29 C is not compatible with USB-C to Lightning cables and therefore can only be used with devices that have a native USB-C port. Various installation options are available. The adapter can be housed in a round flush-mounted box with a diameter of 120 mm, such as those from Spelsberg. Alternatively, a double box with dimensions of 140 x 66 x 66 mm is suitable to accommodate the adapter. When using a double box, a short Ethernet cable with an angled exit is recommended to avoid stressing the cable. Thanks to the compact dimensions of the adapter—only 80 x 30 x 23 mm—it can be easily concealed behind wall mounts. In combination with the smart things sDock or sDock Fix wall mounts, a fully concealed installation without visible cables or power supplies is possible.
What advantages does Gigabit Ethernet offer over Fast Ethernet in PoE adapters?
The key difference of the smart things s29 C compared to other PoE adapters is the Gigabit Ethernet data transfer. While conventional PoE splitters only support 10/100 Mbps Fast Ethernet, the s29 C provides full Gigabit speeds at 10/100/1000 Mbps. This is particularly relevant for applications that require large data transfers, such as high-resolution video conferencing, media streaming, or the use of cloud applications. In environments with many simultaneously connected devices, individual tablets also benefit from the higher bandwidth. The USB 3.0 data standard at the output additionally ensures faster communication between the adapter and the end device. The wired Gigabit connection also offers significantly higher network security and stability than wireless connections, which is a decisive advantage in business environments, security-critical applications, and areas with high Wi‑Fi density. Those looking to buy a powerful PoE adapter with Gigabit data transfer will find the s29 C a future-proof solution for conference rooms, showrooms, digital signage, reception areas, and smart home controls.
